Kyle Richards

Kyle Richards has one of those screen careers that loops back to where it began. Born in Hollywood on January 11, 1969, she started acting at five and built an early career across film and television. Her childhood work included 18 episodes of Little House on the Prairie, the thriller The Car alongside her sister Kim Richards, and a part opposite Bette Davis in The Watcher in the Woods. For horror fans, though, Richards is most closely tied to Lindsey Wallace. She originated the role in John Carpenter's Halloween in 1978, appearing alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in a film that helped shape and popularize the modern slasher. Lindsey could easily have remained a single credit from Richards's childhood, but the character instead became the defining through-line of her film work. Richards returned as Lindsey more than four decades later in Halloween Kills. It was more than a passing nod to the original: the role brought an adult Lindsey back into Michael Myers's orbit and reconnected Richards directly with the franchise's earliest chapter. She returned again in Halloween Ends in 2022, giving her an unusual place within the series as a performer present near both the beginning and the close of this later trilogy. Her career between those Halloween appearances has moved comfortably between scripted television, film and reality TV. Richards held a main role in the fantasy sitcom Down to Earth, appeared in 21 episodes of ER as nurse Dori Kerns, and made guest appearances across a range of television series. Since 2010, she has also been a main cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, becoming the longest-serving cast member in the franchise's history. She later co-executive produced American Woman, a comedy series inspired by her childhood in the 1970s. That mix of child acting, television longevity and a return to horror gives Richards a career with a distinctive shape.
