Somewhere along the way, watching movies became endless feeds, recommendation engines and deciding what to watch for longer than the film itself.
Please Rewind is our attempt to bring a little bit of the fun back.
We miss the feeling of walking around a video store with no idea what you were going to take home. Picking up boxes. Looking at the artwork. Reading the backs. Asking someone what they thought was worth renting.
That's the spirit behind this place.
We don't want Please Rewind to feel like a movie database.
There are already thousands of places online where you can find a runtime, cast list or plot summary. We're much more interested in the conversation afterwards.
Was it brilliant? Ridiculous? Overrated? Underrated? Did you wear the VHS out? Did you buy the DVD on release day? Would you still recommend it now?
Some movies are masterpieces. Some are terrible. Quite a few are terrible and somehow wonderful at exactly the same time.
We're interested in all of them.
