30 Rock Cast Is Reuniting for Its 20th Anniversary — But You’ll Have to Be There to See It

The 30 Rock 20th Anniversary Celebration will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 11, 2026.

And that date isn't accidental.

30 Rock premiered on NBC on October 11, 2006, meaning the cast will reunite exactly 20 years to the day after Liz Lemon first walked onto our television screens.

Tina Fey will be joined by Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer, with the event also promising appearances from the extended cast and additional special guests.

Exactly who those surprise guests will be hasn't been revealed yet, which should make things even more interesting considering just how ridiculous the show's guest-star list became over seven seasons.

The evening itself is being described as featuring “games, nonsense and surprises.”

Which, to be fair, sounds about right for 30 Rock.

Here's the slightly painful bit for anyone who can't get themselves to New York.

The anniversary celebration has been announced as a one-night-only, “never-to-be-televised” event.

Radio City Music Hall lists the show for 7 pm on October 11, with doors opening at 6 pm.

At the moment, no television broadcast or streaming release has been announced afterwards.

That makes this quite different from the 30 Rock: A One-Time Special that reunited much of the cast back in 2020.

This time, if you want to see what happens, it appears you'll actually have to be sitting inside Radio City Music Hall.

In an age when practically everything ends up on a streaming service somewhere, there's something rather old-school about that.

Although we're guessing 30 Rock fans outside New York might use slightly stronger language.

The announcement itself already gave fans a little taste of the reunion.

Tina Fey appeared alongside Baldwin, Morgan, Krakowski and McBrayer in a video announcing the event, with the cast quickly slipping back into the kind of characters and comedy that made the series work so well.

It doesn't take long before it feels like Liz Lemon is attempting to organise another completely unmanageable collection of people.

Which is probably exactly how a 30 Rock reunion should begin.

The fact that the main cast can still bounce off each other like this two decades after the show premiered is also a pretty good indication that Radio City could be in for a very funny night.

Created by Tina Fey and partly inspired by her experience as head writer on Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock took viewers behind the scenes of the fictional sketch comedy series TGS with Tracy Jordan.

Fey played head writer Liz Lemon, whose job mostly involved keeping the programme running while dealing with network executive Jack Donaghy, played by Alec Baldwin, unpredictable star Tracy Jordan, played by Tracy Morgan, and Jenna Maroney, played by Jane Krakowski.

Then there was Jack McBrayer's Kenneth Parcell, the NBC page whose relentless optimism somehow made him one of the strangest people on a show full of strange people.

The series ran for seven seasons between 2006 and 2013, producing 138 episodes and winning 16 Primetime Emmy Awards.

But numbers only tell part of the story.

30 Rock became one of those comedies where the jokes arrived so quickly that watching an episode for the second or third time could reveal something you'd completely missed.

And 20 years after its debut, plenty of those jokes still get quoted.

The reunion isn't just an excuse to get everyone back together.

All net proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem, supporting its work with young people through after-school, academic and career programmes.

That gives the anniversary celebration a genuinely worthwhile purpose beyond nostalgia.

Ticket presales begin on August 26, with the general sale following on August 27.

Considering this is currently being billed as the only chance to see the reunion, we can't imagine those seats hanging around forever.

And here's the part we don't particularly enjoy writing.

30 Rock is twenty years old.

The first episode aired in 2006.

Yes, really.

Somehow Liz Lemon walking around with a plate of night cheese feels like something that happened about eight years ago, but apparently time has other ideas.

There doesn't appear to be a full 30 Rock revival on the cards, and this anniversary celebration isn't being presented as one.

Maybe that's for the best.

Not every great television series needs another season decades later.

Sometimes getting the people who made it special back into the same room for one ridiculous evening is enough.

And on October 11, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer will do exactly that.

Twenty years to the day after it all started.

Good God, Lemon.
