Scout Taylor-Compton is an American actress best known to horror audiences for playing Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009). Taking on a character forever associated with Jamie Lee Curtis was no small task, but Taylor-Compton’s version of Laurie was deliberately different: younger, more emotionally raw and increasingly traumatised as Michael Myers tears through her life. Her performance became one of the defining elements of Zombie’s darker and more brutal reinterpretation of the Halloween story. Beyond Haddonfield, Taylor-Compton has built a career spanning horror, thrillers, drama and independent film. Her credits include The Runaways, April Fool’s Day, An American Crime and numerous genre projects, while her continued involvement in horror has made her a familiar figure among fans. Despite working steadily across different types of film and television, her portrayal of Laurie Strode remains one of her most recognisable roles and gives her a permanent place in the history of the Halloween franchise.
