Dick Warlock

Dick Warlock’s screen career was shaped as much by movement as by dialogue. An American actor and stunt performer, he worked from 1960 until his retirement in 2002, building a body of work that joined on-camera roles with the demanding craft of stunt performance. For horror fans, Warlock is best known for playing Michael Myers in Halloween II. The role placed him behind one of the genre’s most familiar masks, relying on controlled movement and physical presence to embody the character. He returned to the Halloween series in a different capacity for Halloween III: Season of the Witch, playing the android assassin. Together, the two performances show how effectively Warlock could use physicality to create menace, whether playing a central figure or a more contained supporting threat. His career extended well beyond those appearances. Warlock served as Kurt Russell’s personal stunt double for over 25 years, a long-running professional association that became a defining part of his work. He also collaborated with directors including Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter. That combination of acting and stunt performance gave him a distinctive place in film production: sometimes visible as a character, sometimes helping another performer carry the action, but consistently working through the physical side of screen storytelling. Born on February 5, 1940, in Oakley, Warlock now lives in Kingsport, Tennessee. He has two sons, Billy Warlock and Lance Warlock, and a daughter, Rhonda. His career remains especially notable for the range contained within it—from playing Michael Myers to decades spent doubling for Kurt Russell—and for a screen presence built on precision, control and an understanding of how movement reads on camera.
