Brooke Bundy

Brooke Bundy is an American film and television actor whose career stretches across soap operas, prime-time drama and horror. Born in New York City on August 8, 1944, she became a familiar presence on television through an unusually broad collection of guest roles, moving comfortably between westerns, family shows, crime series and science fiction. Bundy’s most sustained television work came in daytime drama. She played Rebecca North on Days of Our Lives from 1975 to 1977, then appeared as Diana Maynard Taylor, RN, on General Hospital from 1977 to 1981. Those long-running parts sit alongside a guest résumé that captures the range of American television across several decades. Her credits include The Big Valley, Daniel Boone, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rawhide, The Virginian, Mission: Impossible, Mannix, Charlie’s Angels, The Brady Bunch and Moonlighting. She also appeared as different characters in Emergency! while working as a stock actress for Jack Webb’s production company, Mark VII Limited. Genre fans may know Bundy best as Elaine Parker, mother of Kristen Parker, in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. She returned to the role in the 1988 sequel A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, giving her a place in one of horror’s defining continuing stories. Bundy later appeared in Daniel Farrands’ documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, revisiting the series and its history. Her television work also reached into science fiction and fantasy, with appearances in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Lost, Starman and the first-season Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Naked Now.” Taken together, Bundy’s screen career is marked less by one fixed persona than by adaptability: recurring daytime characters, one-off television parts and a horror role that continues to connect her with Elm Street audiences.
