Brian Peck
Brian Peck is an American former actor, dialogue coach, producer and director whose screen career moved between horror, children’s television and behind-the-scenes production work. Born on July 29, 1960, in Huntington, he is best known as Scuz in The Return of the Living Dead. The role remains his most prominent movie appearance, placing him among the ensemble caught in the film’s escalating zombie chaos. Peck later became familiar to younger television audiences as Pickle Boy on All That, where he also worked as a dialogue coach. His other acting credits include appearances in Boy Meets World, Good Burger, Growing Pains and The Amanda Show. His work on Growing Pains extended beyond a conventional screen role: he served as a body double for Kirk Cameron. Away from acting, Peck directed the 1990 comedy-horror anthology The Willies and also worked as a television producer and voice coach. Any account of Peck’s career must also acknowledge that he is a convicted sex offender. After his release from prison, he was hired in 2005 to work on the Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. His hiring was aided in part by character letters from the show’s directors Richard and Beth Correll. Peck completed voiceover work for three episodes, but Disney Channel executives fired him after learning of his conviction. His voice performances and on-screen credits were subsequently replaced. In 2012, Peck worked as a stand-in for Charlie Sheen on the FX sitcom Anger Management. Taken as a whole, his career spans recognizable genre and television roles, coaching and production work, while remaining inseparable from the conviction that changed the course and public understanding of his professional life.
