Brian Bloom

Brian Bloom has built the kind of career that refuses to stay in one lane. Born on June 30, 1970, and raised in Merrick, New York, he found an early break as a child in Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America. He soon moved into daytime television as Dusty Donovan on As the World Turns, playing the role for several years and winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Leading Man at the 12th Daytime Emmy Awards. That early run established Bloom as a familiar television presence. He followed it with teen-focused TV movies including Crash Course, Dance ’til Dawn and Desperate for Love, then continued through series such as Melrose Place, 2000 Malibu Road, Oz, CSI: Miami, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Drive. In Dollhouse, he took on the role of fanatical cult leader Jonas Sparrow. He also played Bandit across a series of 1994 television movies, stepping into a character loosely based on the part associated with Burt Reynolds. Bloom’s work on The A-Team showed another side of his career. He played the mercenary antagonist Pike and co-wrote the 2010 film with director Joe Carnahan, extending a working relationship that combined performance with screenwriting. His voice and motion-capture work has been just as substantial. Bloom has a long association with the Call of Duty franchise, appearing in many of its titles. That work culminated in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, where he played Captain Nick Reyes, the player character modeled on his likeness, and wrote the game’s narrative. The script earned him a Writers Guild of America nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing. Across film, television and games, Bloom’s career is defined less by a single signature role than by his ability to move between young drama, crime stories, action, voice performance and writing while remaining a steady presence on screen and behind the page.
