Bree Turner

Bree Turner is an American actor and dancer whose career has moved easily between studio comedies, independent films, television drama and horror. Born on March 10, 1977, in Palo Alto, California, and raised in Alamo, she began appearing on screen as a background dancer in films including The Big Lebowski, She’s All That and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. That early dance work gave way to speaking roles, beginning with Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, followed in the same year by MTV’s late-night anthology series Undressed. Turner became a familiar presence in early-2000s comedy through roles in The Wedding Planner, Joe Dirt and American Pie 2. She stepped into the lead as a head cheerleader in Bring It On Again, a starring role that placed her at the center of the sequel’s competitive cheerleading story. Her film work also reached beyond mainstream comedy, with appearances in the musical romantic drama True Vinyl and the wrestling drama Backyard Dogs. Television has provided the broadest showcase for Turner’s range. She held recurring roles on Moesha, Spin City and Cold Case, guest-starred on Sex, Love & Secrets, and led “Incident On and Off a Mountain Road,” the pilot episode of Showtime’s horror anthology Masters of Horror. Her most sustained role came on NBC’s Grimm as Rosalee Calvert. Introduced as a recurring character in the first season, Rosalee joined the main cast from season two onward, with Turner completing six seasons on the series by 2017. Turner has also worked on stage, playing Ivy in The Pages of My Diary I’d Rather Not Read at Los Angeles’s Hudson Mainstage Theater in 2003. Across film, television and theatre, her career shows a performer comfortable shifting between broad comedy, darker genre material and ensemble drama.
