Bobb'e J. Thompson
Bobb'e J. Thompson has spent much of his career working in comedy, bringing a quick, mischievous energy to film and television roles from an early age. Born on February 28, 1996, in Kansas City, Thompson was already performing at five years old, when he appeared on Showtime at the Apollo and performed Bow Wow's "Bow Wow (That's My Name)" for host Steve Harvey. His television work soon placed him alongside experienced comic performers. Thompson played Jimmy Mitchell on the NBC sitcom The Tracy Morgan Show, which ran for one season from 2003 to 2004. He later became known for playing the child trickster Stanley on That's So Raven and its spin-off Cory in the House, as well as Tracy Jr. on 30 Rock. A recurring part on Tyler Perry's House of Payne and a supporting role as M. Williams on Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse added to a television career built around characters who rarely fade into the background. On the big screen, Thompson appeared with Vince Vaughn and Paul Giamatti in the 2007 Christmas comedy Fred Claus. The following year, he played Ronnie Shields in Role Models, another part that made good use of his direct comic delivery and ability to hold his own within an ensemble. Thompson also moved beyond conventional acting roles. He appeared as Marcus Rivers in commercials for the PlayStation Portable and hosted his own Cartoon Network CN Real series, Bobb'e Says. After its first season, he opted out of a second in order to pursue more film work. His career has also included voice acting, rap, and a place in the cast of MTV's Wild 'n Out, extending the performance style audiences first saw when he was still a child.
