Blaze Berdahl
Blaze Berdahl is an American actor whose career stretches from childhood film and television roles to voice work, narration and announcing. Born in New York City on September 6, 1980, she entered movies with the 1989 Stephen King adaptation Pet Sematary. The film marked her screen debut and remains a notable part of her early career; years later, she appeared as an interview subject in the 2017 documentary Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary. For many viewers, however, Berdahl is best known as Lenni Frazier on the PBS children’s series Ghostwriter. She played the character from 1992 to 1995, becoming part of a young ensemble built around mysteries, reading and the written word. The role gave her a substantial run on television during the early 1990s rather than limiting her childhood career to a single film appearance. Her other television credits include Aliens in the Family and Third Watch. Berdahl also developed a parallel career behind the microphone, including voiceover work for Richard Scarry’s Best ABC Video Ever! As an adult, announcing and narration became her primary professional focus, extending a career that had always moved between on-camera acting and voice performance. Berdahl was the youngest daughter of teacher Rita Berdahl and actor Roger Berdahl. She was born one minute after her twin sister, Beau Dakota Berdahl, who became a talent agent, and she also has an older brother, Sky Ashley Berdahl. She later attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Across film, children’s television and voice work, Berdahl’s career has taken an unusually varied path. Her screen appearances may be concentrated in a relatively compact group of credits, but Pet Sematary and Ghostwriter place her in two very different corners of late-1980s and 1990s popular culture.
