Bianca Jagger

Bianca Jagger’s acting career was relatively brief, but it crossed an unusually varied stretch of late-1970s and 1980s screen culture. Born in Managua, Nicaragua, on 2 May 1945, she later became known as a model and socialite as well as an actor. Her path to the screen followed studies in political science at the Paris Institute of Political Studies, extensive travel in India and an interest in Gandhi’s non-violent principles and Eastern philosophy. Jagger pursued acting in the mid-1970s as she sought a professional identity of her own. She made her screen debut opposite Dennis Hopper in the 1978 film Flesh Color (Couleur chair). That year also brought a sharply different project: All You Need Is Cash, the satirical television film built around the Rutles, in which she appeared as Martini. Her subsequent roles continued that eclectic pattern. Jagger played Corrine in The American Success Company in 1980, then joined the large comic ensemble of The Cannonball Run in 1981 as the sheik’s sister. Rather than settling into one type of part, she moved between independent film, satire, mainstream comedy and television. During the 1980s, Jagger appeared in In Our Hands and made guest appearances across several prominent series. Her television work included the Miami Vice episode “Free Verse,” Street Hawk’s “The Unsinkable 453,” the Hotel episode “Separation” and The Colbys episode “Betrayal.” Together, these credits form a compact screen career shaped more by variety than by volume. By the late 1980s, Jagger had largely stepped away from acting to concentrate on human rights advocacy and philanthropy. That shift makes her film and television work a distinct chapter within a public life that ultimately developed in a different direction.
