Barry Miller is an American actor whose career crosses film, television and the stage. Born in Los Angeles on February 6, 1958, he is the son of Sidney Miller, an actor, director and writer, and Iris Burton, an agent. Miller attended Fairfax High School before establishing his own varied body of acting work. His film credits include several widely known titles: Saturday Night Fever, Fame and Peggy Sue Got Married. In 1981, he played Reuven Malter in The Chosen, giving him a central role in one of the more substantial screen projects represented in his filmography. Together, these movies reflect a career shaped less by one defining vehicle than by appearances across a range of notable productions. Miller has also maintained a connection to theatre. His stage work includes Biloxi Blues, and in 1992 he appeared on Broadway in Crazy He Calls Me. That movement between live performance and screen acting is an important part of his career, placing him among performers comfortable working across different formats rather than remaining tied to a single medium. Although his credits include prominent films, Miller’s career is best viewed as that of a working actor with experience in film, television and theatre. From Reuven Malter in The Chosen to his appearances in Saturday Night Fever, Fame and Peggy Sue Got Married, his work connects him to a distinctive group of American movies. His stage credits add another dimension, completing the picture of an actor whose career has consistently extended beyond the screen.
