Barbara Rosenblat

Barbara Rosenblat’s career stretches comfortably across stage, film, television, radio, voice performance and audiobook narration. Born in London on July 17, 1950, she was raised in New York City in a Jewish family and attended Hebrew school as a child. That movement between London and New York would become an important part of her professional story, giving her career a shape that feels less like a straight line than a series of rewarding turns. One of those turns came when Rosenblat returned to London for a family wedding and decided to remain in England. Soon afterward, she joined a production of Godspell. From there, she continued working in theatre while also taking on roles across British radio, film and television. The range is significant: Rosenblat has built her career not around a single kind of performance, but around the ability to move between live theatre, screen acting and work led almost entirely by the voice. After returning to the United States, she spent four years at the Library of Congress narrating books for blind readers.
