Ashley Peldon

Ashley Peldon has built a screen career that stretches from daytime television and studio movies to voice work and comedy. Born in New York City on April 2, 1984, she began acting as a child, as did her sister Courtney. Peldon’s early breakthrough came in 1988, when she was cast as Marah Lewis, the daughter of Joshua and Reva Lewis, on the daytime soap Guiding Light. By her third year on the series, she had received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. It was the start of a career shaped less by one defining lane than by a steady willingness to move between formats and tones. Her film appearances include The Lemon Sisters, Stella, Deceived, Drop Dead Fred, Arthur Miller’s The Crucible and Ghost World. On television, she spent two years on NBC’s The Mommies, appeared on Home Improvement and held recurring roles on That ’70s Show and The Pretender. She also played spoiled actress Amy King in MTV’s comedy series Connected. Alongside her live-action work, Peldon has worked as a voice actor, adding another dimension to a career already split across film and television. One of Peldon’s most demanding childhood parts came in the CBS production Child of Rage, in which she portrayed a sexually abused child at the age of seven. That dramatic experience helped spark her interest in child psychology. She later graduated from Skidmore College in New York with a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology and Film in January 2007, then earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology. In 2014, she was pursuing a PhD in depth psychology. Peldon has also stepped behind the camera. In February 2008, she directed an Allan Heinberg play for TV Takes the Stage, starring Bonnie Somerville and Melissa Sagemiller. Taken together, her acting, directing and psychology studies give her career an unusually broad shape—one grounded in performance, but never limited to it.
