Anthony Ruivivar

Anthony Ruivivar is an American actor whose career spans film, television and voice work, with a notable concentration in crime dramas, action series and procedural storytelling. Born in Honolulu on November 4, 1970, he made early film appearances in Race the Sun in 1996 and as a minor character in Starship Troopers the following year. His breakthrough arrived in 1999 with Third Watch. Ruivivar played Carlos Nieto, a paramedic working alongside the police officers, firefighters and fellow paramedics at the center of the New York City action-drama. Carlos was written as a Hawaiian-born Filipino-American who had been abandoned by his family and raised across various foster homes. The role placed Ruivivar within an ensemble built around high-pressure emergency work while giving him a character with a complicated personal history. He remained with the series during its 1999–2005 run. After Third Watch, Ruivivar continued to work extensively in drama, often playing police officers, detectives or FBI agents. His television appearances included Traveler, Quantico, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in 2007, followed by Lie to Me in 2009. Those parts established a recurring lane in his career: characters operating inside investigations, institutions and situations where authority is tested. In 2010, Ruivivar took a main role as Alejo Salazar in ABC’s The Whole Truth. He later appeared in recurring roles that showed different sides of his screen work, playing Alex Longshadow in Banshee and moving into animation as the voice of Bruce Wayne and Batman in Beware the Batman. Across live-action and voice performances, Ruivivar’s career has moved between supporting parts, ensemble television and major recurring roles. The common thread is a comfort with dramatic worlds shaped by danger, responsibility and divided loyalties.
