Anne Marie McEvoy
Anne Marie McEvoy’s screen career is defined by an early start, a long absence and a return to one of her best-known television roles. Born in the United States on September 19, 1975, she began acting at a young age. Her first major role came in 1982, when she appeared as Little Girl on the sitcom Archie Bunker’s Place. McEvoy moved between television, film and voice work throughout the 1980s. She played Sarah in the 1984 horror film Children of the Corn and appeared in the television movie Lots of Luck the following year. In 1989, she was also seen in the Japanese film Piramiddo no kanata ni: White Lion densetsu. Her work was not limited to live action: she provided the original voice of Zoe, Max’s sister, in the pilot for an animated project called Space Baby. When Hanna-Barbera picked up the project and retitled it Fantastic Max, the role went to Elisabeth Harnois for the resulting 26-episode series. For sitcom viewers, McEvoy is particularly associated with Kathy Santoni, whom she played during the third season of Full House. It was a relatively contained part of her career, but one that gave her an unexpected route back to acting decades later. In 1991, McEvoy stepped away from acting for 25 years to focus on her personal life. Her professional path also came to include work as a psychologist and university teacher, making her career notably broader than her childhood and young-adult screen appearances suggest. She eventually returned to the role of Kathy Santoni in Fuller House, reconnecting her later work with the television character for which she remains known.
