Anna Mucha is a Polish actress whose screen career began at an unusually young age. Born and raised in Warsaw, she was cast as Sabinka in Andrzej Wajda’s Korczak in 1990. Three years later, she played Danka Dresner in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List, the most significant role of her early career. Mucha continued working through the 1990s, appearing in Wajda’s Miss Nobody in 1996 and Młode wilki 1/2 the following year. In 2000, she featured in Krzysztof Zanussi’s Life as a Fatal Sexually Transmitted Disease and played Lili, a prostitute, in Boys Don’t Cry. Taken together, those films gave her a varied early body of work before she stepped away from cinema for the next decade. Television became a central part of Mucha’s career. Since 2003, she has been a member of the main cast of the Polish soap opera L for Love, establishing a sustained presence on the small screen. Her public profile expanded further in 2009 when she won the tenth season of Poland’s Dancing with the Stars alongside professional dancer Rafał Maserak. In 2010, she served as a judge on the fifth season of You Can Dance – Po prostu tańcz!, the Polish version of So You Think You Can Dance. Mucha returned to movie screens in 2011 with the comedy Och, Karol 2. That same year, she took the lead role in the television series Prosto w serce. Her career has moved between major international productions, Polish cinema, long-running serial drama and television entertainment, with L for Love providing its most enduring through line.
