Alimi Ballard

Alimi Ballard is an American actor whose career has moved comfortably between daytime drama, sitcoms, science fiction and some of television’s most durable procedurals. Born in The Bronx on October 17, 1977, Ballard began acting in high school and attended the Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center in the northeast Bronx, where he participated in its PYT theater program. His early television work came through the connected daytime dramas Loving and The City. From 1993 to 1996, he played Frankie Hubbard, the son of Jesse and Angie. A regular role on the ABC sitcom Arsenio followed in 1997, before Ballard took on two very different genre parts: Quizmaster Albert in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Herbal in Dark Angel. Ballard found one of his longest-running roles in Numb3rs, co-starring as David Sinclair from 2005 to 2010. The CBS police procedural gave him a sustained place within an ensemble and reflected a major thread in his screen career: characters working inside complicated investigations. He later guest-starred on NCIS as Special Agent Gayne Levin and appeared repeatedly on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Officer Crawford, a newly promoted detective. That recurring part followed an earlier appearance in the show’s third season as a music producer. His television credits also include guest appearances on NYPD Blue, American Dreams, Rizzoli & Isles, Drop Dead Diva, Castle and Bones. In 2015, he joined Mireille Enos in the ABC legal thriller The Catch, remaining for its first season. Ballard has worked in film as well, playing Fusco in Fast Five in 2011. Across comedy, fantasy, science fiction, crime drama and action, his career shows the adaptability of an actor able to shift between regular ensemble work and focused guest roles without being confined to a single kind of series.
