Albert Henderson

Albert Henderson (1915–2004) was an American film and television actor whose credits stretch across more than three decades of screen work. Born in New York City on January 29, 1915, he built a career that moved between television and film without being defined by a single title. His early credits included the television series Car 54, Where Are You?, which ran from 1961 to 1963. From there, Henderson appeared in a succession of films that placed him in very different cinematic company. He was part of Coogan's Bluff in 1968, followed by Greaser's Palace in 1972 and Serpico in 1973. Those appearances alone connect his career to a particularly varied stretch of American filmmaking. Henderson continued working on screen into the following decades. He appeared in the 1981 adaptation of The Postman Always Rings Twice and, more than ten years later, in Mr. Jones in 1993. Taken together, these credits show the shape of a durable working life: television in the early 1960s, prominent film productions through the 1970s and 1980s, and another screen appearance in the 1990s. Rather than resolving into one signature part, Henderson's career is best appreciated through that continuity. His name turns up across films separated by years, changing styles and different corners of the screen.
