Adam Wylie

Adam Wylie has built the kind of career that refuses to stay in one corner. Born on May 23, 1984, in San Dimas, California, he began acting at four in a candy commercial and moved quickly into film, television and voice work. His first motion-picture appearance came in Child's Play 2 in 1990, followed that year by a role as Larry in Kindergarten Cop. Wylie became widely known as Zack Brock, the youngest of Sheriff Brock's three children, on Picket Fences, appearing in the series from 1992 to 1996. That early television run led to work across a broad range of shows, including Ed, Gilmore Girls, Monk, CSI: Miami and Veronica Mars. Gilmore Girls viewers may know him best as Brad Langford, a recurring presence from 2001 to 2003 whose theatrical ambitions neatly overlapped with Wylie's own stage career. His voice work began early as well. By nine, Wylie was already busy behind the microphone, later voicing young Prince Derek in The Swan Princess and David in All Dogs Go to Heaven 2. His animation credits span very different worlds: Dennis the Menace, Hey Arnold!, Batman Beyond, American Dragon: Jake Long, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legion of Super Heroes and Winx Club. That body of work makes voice acting a substantial part of his career rather than a side route. Onstage, Wylie appeared as Jack in the 2002 Broadway revival of Into the Woods. He later played Boq in Wicked at Los Angeles's Pantages Theatre during 2007, alongside further regional theatre work in productions including Camelot, Big River, Footloose and The Producers. Wylie's screen roles also include Can of Worms, American Pie Presents: Band Camp and the skateboarding film Street Dreams. Beyond acting, he has worked as a magician and performed card and coin tricks on Masters of Illusion in 2009. Taken together, his career is marked by steady movement between live action, animation, musical theatre and magic—a working performer comfortable in several distinct forms of entertainment.
